| May 4, 2019 2:00 AM

A fight over a used couch broke out at the food bank, according to Kalispell Police Department logs. The reporting party had been waiting all day to claim the furniture in the parking lot. Management said the furniture was free to anyone who had the means to remove it from the property, but the woman didn’t have a truck to haul it away. In the meantime, another man and his wife arrived in a truck and received permission to take the furniture. The woman told the couple that she had called dibs, so they agreed to give her until 3 p.m. to haul it away. When the furniture wasn’t removed at 3 p.m., the man and his wife returned and began loading the furniture. The woman offered the man $60 to move the furniture for her, and he in turn offered her $50 for the furniture. Neither agreed on the arrangement. When the man began loading the furniture, the woman allegedly slapped him in the face. He refused to pursue charges and finished loading the furniture.
