James Robert Pallo, 73
James Robert Pallo, 73, of Florence, Montana, passed away on April 29, 2019, at the home of his eldest son in Florence.
James “Jim” was born to Robert John Pallo and Vivian Marie Green, Dec. 20, 1945, in Watervliet, Michigan. He graduated from Whitefish High School in 1964, where his family owned and operated a large ranch south of Whitefish (Happy Valley).
He married Lorraine Petty, of Ogden, Utah, in 1966, and they made a life together, in a number of places, including Kalispell, Auburn, California; Coos Bay, Oregon; and Florence. Together they raised three children and loved and treasured their six grandchildren.
Jim owned and operated many businesses in the Flathead, including Super America and Jet Oil gas stations, Glacier Ice Company, The Smorgi restaurants, and others.
Per his wishes, a graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Mountain Standard Time on May 8 at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery (Lot 52, Sec E). A celebration of life party will be held at his son’s home in Florence on June 29. All of Jim’s friends and relatives are invited to attend the celebration.
