Polson finishes Laverne Combo play with 2 wins

BUTTE — Polson went 2-0 on the last day of action at the Laverne Combo Invitational Softball Tournament on Saturday.

Both of the Pirates’ victories were shutouts ­ — 12-0 over Glasgow and 13-0 over Miles City.

Pitcher Lauren Vergeront allowed five hits between the two games combined.

Kaylanna DesJarlais homered twice versus Miles City, had six RBI and three hits. Lexy Orien also homered and had two RBI.

Eureka tops Anaconda

in doubleheader play

ANACONDA — Eureka bested host Anaconda in a doubleheader, winning 7-6 and 5-3.

Kiah Hawkins doubled in the 7-6 win and had two RBI. Lily Wilbur had two hits.

In the 5-3 victory, Avory Escobar had an RBI, hit 2 for 3 at the plate and pitched two innings in relief of Kiah Hawkins.

Hayley Hall doubled.

Divisional play is next in Anaconda and starts Friday.
