Comment period extended for Going-to-the-Sun Road plan
Glacier National Park officials have extended the comment period for the Going-to-the-Sun Road Corridor Management Plan through Nov. 6.
The original deadline to submit comments was Oct. 6, but a press release from the park says that deadline was extended due to public interest and requests officials received during a public meeting in September.
More than 100 people were present at the public meeting and more than a dozen in attendance asked questions and offered suggestions for the 184-page plan that outlines multiple possible action plans for addressing congestion issues in the park.
“We appreciate the feedback we’ve received thus far, and look forward to hearing from more people as we develop proposals for transportation, visitor use, recreation experience, and resource protection along the Going-to-the-Sun Road Corridor,” Glacier National Park Superintendent, Jeff Mow said.
The plan is available for public review and comment on the National Park Service’s website.
