Lights out for man at intersection

| October 7, 2019 2:00 AM

A man was supposedly sleeping in his vehicle in the intersection of E. Idaho Street and Fourth Avenue East North and had to be woken up to continue driving. He appeared to be driving normally and was OK, but he was given a warning by Kalispell Police Department for a brake light being out.

A woman told police a man who checked out a vehicle for sale the previous day was reportedly trying to steal it. She said it wasn’t an emergency and the registered owner was heading to the location, but the man was acting “weird and may be on drugs,” and wanted to inform law enforcement “as there are too many druggies in the area now.” The incident may have been a miscommunication between a buyer and a seller and the seller attempting to take the vehicle prematurely.

An apartment dweller claimed her downstairs neighbor “smokes marijuana all day” and another resident was a “major meth head who drives a silver car.”

Someone wanted police to check up on a man purportedly “trading wigs” near a restroom at Woodland Park. The person didn’t have a clothing description other than he was wearing a blond wig and acting strangely, talking to himself, pulling things out of a large bag and demanding a ride from their friend. The person wanted an officer to follow up with them about “mental health ordinances.”

Someone told police that their son reportedly saw a man get into his truck and yell at a black dog, punch it in the head and then throw it in the backseat a week ago and he wasn’t sure who to call so they offered to help figure it out.

A man was seen lying in the road with several cased on alcohol next to him.

Someone was suspicious of a truck that was spray painted with “need gas” and “out of work handyman,” because it supposedly kept driving up and down alleys in the area.

An “extremely intoxicated” woman was lying on the sidewalk outside a bar entrance and while her intoxicated husband was with her, someone wasn’t sure if she needed medical help. She ended up getting a taxi.

A man who “was very obtuse with dispatchers,” claimed he was in a motor home parked in a driveway in an alley and someone was pounding on the window.

Someone thought a woman was intoxicated or having mental health issues when she allegedly kept “breaking down crying and getting down on all fours.” She was advised not to drive and stay off the property.

Vandals took three pumpkins off a woman’s porch and smashed them on the sidewalk, leaving behind a piece of metal that looked like fireplace flashing.

Someone was concerned that two boys, who looked to be between the ages of 12 to 14, were left unattended in a running vehicle and were “messing with” it when they were supposedly playing with the gears and steering wheel.
