Survey determines Montana's favorite Halloween candy
A recently released study that examined the most popular Halloween candy in every state shows that Montana trick-or-treaters prefer Tootsie Pops in their candy bag.
Idaho, Washington and Oregon go for Reeseās, which is the most popular choice in a dozen states, according to the nationwide survey conducted by Big On Equipment. AirHeads, Nerds, SweeTarts and Gummy Worms were the least popular, rounding out the list with just one state each.
Other findings in the survey show that ideal trick-or-treating hours are 6 to 9 p.m., and trick-or-treaters age out of the tradition at 15 years old.
According to respondents, the average household spends just over $25 on candy while parents go above and beyond to spend $35.
About 52 percent of respondents said that Halloween should fall on the last Saturday in October.
