Mary Schlesinger Conway, 70

Mary Schlesinger Conway died peacefully at home on Oct. 4, 2019.

She was born in Minneapolis on Dec.1, 1948, to Allen B. and Julie M. Schlesinger.

Mary grew up in Omaha, Nebraska, and attended Creighton University. In Omaha she also met and married her husband Mike. In 1971, they moved to Denver where they raised their two daughters, Julie and Katie. Mary principally was a homemaker and volunteer. As a mom, however, she returned to college and earned a degree in art history and education at the University of Colorado. From there she pursued a career as a corporate art consultant and artist, continued volunteerism and enjoyed book clubs and art activities. She and Mike moved to Whitefish in 2005, where she continued her involvement in book clubs and art groups.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mary is survived by husband, Mike Conway; her daughters Julie Conway of Seattle and Katie Nixon of Whitefish (Tom Nixon); granddaughters Emma Nixon and Annie Nixon, both of Whitefish; and three sisters, Sue Schlesinger and Amy Kampfe of Omaha, and Lucy Schlesinger of Florence, Colo.

Mary wanted to share this quote with all: “I will spend my heaven doing good upon Earth.”

There will be a memorial celebration (open house) from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at the Conway home, 39 Green Place, Whitefish.
