Kalispell bike plan open house set at Wheaton's

| October 17, 2019 2:00 AM

There will be an open house on the Kalispell Pedestrian and Bike Plan from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, at Wheaton’s Cycle, 214 First Ave. W. The public is invited to share insight and discuss a bicycle route map for the proposed plan.

The Kalispell Planning Department has started the process of developing a new plan for biking and walking within the city, based in part on public feedback. The plan aims to “identify and help to prioritize strategies that will increase the number and frequency of people walking and bicycling within the city of Kalispell,” according to a press release.

The Planning Department also hopes the new plan will “improve the connectivity, safety, mobility, convenience and maintenance of the pedestrian and bicycle networks” across Kalispell.

In addition to the open house at Wheaton’s, there is currently a survey available on the Kalispell website about the plan. The survey already has received more than 300 responses. The survey will reportedly remain active for a few more weeks, with no deadline specified yet. The survey is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/kalispellplan
