Bigfork tall hall meeting planned Monday

| October 19, 2019 2:00 AM

A group of local volunteers is hosting a town hall meeting at Bigfork High School at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, to update community members on various projects and initiatives.

The town hall gatherings got their start last summer and traditionally have been held every six weeks, with a break between sessions during the summer months. The objective of the meetings is to distribute information and foster a community dialogue. At the meeting, organizations will share updates on their projects and attendees can make comments or ask questions. Speakers will provide updates on the ImagineIF Library Bigfork, Bigfork ACES, Community Foundation for a Better Bigfork, the Ice Box Canyon road project, affordable housing and the forthcoming Bigfork Eagle newspaper.

Chany Ockert said the meetings originated because she and other community members recognized a need to connect organizations with each other and recruit volunteers for community efforts. During the town hall meeting, there will also be an opportunity for attendees to share why they enjoy living in Bigfork. Childcare will not be provided, but children are welcome.
