Stillwater Christian School hosted the North West Specialty Schools Tournament this weekend to wrap up their season.

The Cougars went 2-1 in pool play and lost in the championship game to Wildhorse, who won on penalty kicks.

“We had a great team effort today anchored by our seniors, Ashley Kauffman, Linnea Hodgskiss, Madi Schwartz and Samantha Jones,” Stillwater coach JR Hemp said. Claire Wrobleski took the Wildhorse team on her shoulders and scored all but one of their goals in both matches. Wrobleski had speed and determination and was able to breakaway several times for a one on one with our goalie. We played good soccer and had many chances to win today, but could not contain Wrobleski.”

Mabelle Hartman scored a hat trick for Stillwater. Emma Anderson and Marae Tintzman also scored for Stillwater.

Wrobleski scored five goals for Wildhorse.

“We lost to the Wildhorse in pool play earlier in the day, and came back to have a 6-2 lead with 20 minutes left. The game went into overtime which was scoreless and then to a shootout which the Wildhorse won 3 to 4,” Hemp said. “We had a great season this year.”

The Cougars end their season 11-7-2.
