The Stillwater Cougars won the MCAA state volleyball championship on Saturday defeating Yellowstone County Home School.

“It was a great afternoon of volleyball,” Stillwater coach Katie Guthrie said. “The girls worked hard during the first game but didn’t pull out the win. But they never gave up. Their desire to win was only ignited more. They fought hard every point, and it paid off. We walked away with the championship trophy.”

Sophia Sulzbacher, Kayla Oyler, Abby Hudson, Sydney McKerrow, and Selah Neumann received all-tournament all-star awards and Selah Neumann was named tournament MVP.

Stillwater lost the first championship match and played again since it was its first loss of the tournament.
