Where, oh where, is my old hound dog?

A man told the Kalispell Police Department his old, blue tick hound had been missing for about three hours. He said the dog is old, can’t see well, but still has a good nose. The man said the dog kind of looks like a Rottweiler, is very skinny and doesn’t wear a collar.

A person stopped at the department to ask about sleeping bag coats.

Someone called to report two people standing next to a truck that was parked near the Four Mile overpass. An officer determined the people were just taking pictures.

A caller reported a fight in a lobby involving several people and a woman could be heard screaming in the background. The person was asked to come to the station when sober, if charges needed to be pressed.

Someone said he started his car 10 minutes ago and when he went outside, the unlocked vehicle was gone. It is a 2007 maroon Ford 500 with handicapped plates. The vehicle information was entered into the national computer and the victim said he’d call back to make a statement.

A woman said she thought someone had been trying to get into her residence since 5 a.m. She said couldn’t see anyone because her front porch light doesn’t work. She said she also wanted the garage checked because she thought she heard noise from there, too. When an officer investigated, he didn’t see any tracks in the snow or any other evidence of malfeasance.

When a 911 dispatcher answered, she could hear someone breathing on the other end, but then the call went dead. When she called back, the call went to voice mail. There was previous history with the number with several hangups or misdials. When the dispatcher finally spoke to the owner of the phone, she learned the woman’s 5-year-old son had been playing with the phone but she had gotten it away from him.

A man called the Columbia Falls Police Department because his drunk girlfriend wouldn’t give him his keys, so he locked himself in the bathroom because he was afraid she was going to hit him. An officer eventually dropped off the man at his apartment.

A couple walking down the street said a silver Dodge Durango passed them several times and gunned the engine on each occasion.

An officer removed a road-killed deer from the northbound lane of U.S. 93.

A man tried to call his wife and hit 9 too many times, resulting in a 911 call.

Someone said his dog was stolen a few days ago and he believes he has the culprit on camera from surveillance footage at a nearby bar. When an officer investigated he saw a woman wearing a hoodie and sunglasses carrying the dog.

A suspicious package wrapped like a Christmas gift was seen near a business. It turned out to be an empty box.
