Hotel cleaner finds surprise guest
Wednesday, Oct. 23
— A caller entered a room that was supposed to be empty to do some cleaning and found a white male with short, reddish-brown hair in the room with a duffel bag and bicycle. The male allegedly made a speedy getaway on two wheels toward downtown Bigfork. The reporting party followed the alleged trespasser in their vehicle as he made his way around town, from the high school to the brewery, however, officers were unable to locate the man in question.
— A caller reported someone was logging on a Mud Lake Road property without authorization and said there were a couple of trucks on the land. They also told the Flathead County Sheriff’s office the name of a male suspect, but when contacted by authorities, the man stated he was not at the location in question. Officers advised him to stay off the property until given permission to enter.
— A woman in Ferndale allegedly broke a window and had destroyed other items in a residence that she shared with a roommate. The caller said the woman had “somewhat of a temper” and wanted advice on how to remove her. Officers advised the caller of the process to evict an individual and how to apply for a temporary restraining order.
Thursday, Oct. 24
— An individual stated their daughter had been reportedly beaten by her boyfriend two days ago and was too embarrassed to call for help. The caller requested a civil standby while the woman’s mother helped her pack to leave. A deputy stated they did not have the manpower to standby while they loaded all of their belongings, but would respond if the suspect was present.
— A Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officer dispatched a deer in downtown Bigfork and wanted to let dispatch know in case they received any calls about shots fired.
Friday, Oct. 25
— A woman on Crestview Drive called to report she hadn’t seen her son since the night before. As she was on the phone with dispatch, he returned home.
— An individual said they could not reach their parents who had reportedly departed Bigfork en route to Arizona. Contact was eventually made with the parents in question.
— An employee at a local bar on Montana Highway 35 said a customer reported being lost and could not recall his name nor where he was trying to go. The man was described as in his 40s and wearing a red shirt and jeans. The patron’s behavior reported escalated to the point where he was yelling at other customers. He later left the establishment on foot.
— A man was spotted yelling in front of a local pharmacy and making threats to an imaginary person. Deputies advised the caller that they made contact with the male earlier and to call back if his behavior escalated.
— The same man in the red shirt was told to leave a Hwy. 35 establishment and refused to do so. The owner of the business requested the man be charged with trespassing.
Saturday, Oct. 26
— A woman who had reportedly given her sister temporary guardianship of her children had a legal question for the sheriff’s office.
— A caller who had a no contact order against a male said she saw him drive up her road the day before and wanted to speak with an officer.
Sunday, Oct. 27
— A caller on Sunrise Terrace had questions for an officer related to an individual who was “couch surfing” at their residence.
— An individual reported their roommate had allegedly stolen a bicycle and tools from their garage and kicked them out.
— A caller reported their son assaulted the reporting party and her daughter. He allegedly hit them and threw things at them. The caller stated a mental health issue was involved. A local hospital was notified.
— An individual on Electric Avenue said their neighbor’s Australian shepherds were in their yard. A deputy advised the dog’s owner of the complaint and explained the county dog ordinance to her and did not issue a citation, but advised her that one would be issued if more complaints were received. The owner complained that her neighbors let food outside, but was advised that it was still her responsibility to keep her dogs at home.
— A bear was spotted on Blenn Street. An individual attempted to haze the bear with an air horn and bean bag round, but was unsuccessful. The bear opted to climb higher in the tree which was reportedly very close to residences. ¦
