Mark McClean performs 'Montana Cadence' concert

Mark J. McLean is presenting a one-of-a-kind evening exhibit of music and storytelling titled “Montana Cadence” this weekend at the Angel Theater in the Old LaSalle Grange.

“Montana Cadence” is an Artist-Wilderness-Connection Project. The concert will be held Friday, Sept. 13, and Saturday, Sept.14. Both concerts begin at 7 p.m. There will be a casual reception from 6:15 to 7 p.m. with light refreshments and snacks before the concert.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door. Only 75 seats are available each night. Tickets are available at www.angeltheater.com/get-tickets.

“Montana Cadence” will feature McLean’s original songs showing the intimate relationship between Montanans, our protected wilderness areas, and how these wild places inspire the stories we tell throughout our lives. Both evening performances will include special musical guests Ellery Luikens and Nate Marotz.

A musician and writer born and raised in the Flathead Valley, McLean was one of the 2018 Artist-Wilderness-Connection artists in residence in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex who stayed in the Forest Service cabin on the Middle Fork of the Flathead River.

The Artist-Wilderness-Connection is a program connecting artists to the wilderness through the opportunity to reside in cabins in designated wilderness areas. This program is made possible by the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation, Hockaday Museum of Art, U.S. Forest Service for the Flathead National Forest and Swan Valley Connections.
