Harry 'Bucky' Puryer Jr., 77

| September 13, 2019 2:00 AM

Harry “Bucky” Puryer Jr. was born Oct. 19, 1941, to Harry Puryer and Anna Ashlaw in Hopkinton, New York.

He fell asleep in death on Sept. 6, 2019, surrounded by family.

After being discharged from the Navy, he moved to Montana with his father, sister and brother. While working as a sawyer, he met his wife Linda Sax. They married March 23, 1962. Their son Joe was born May 21, 1963, in Massena, New York.

While living in New York, Bucky was contacted by Jehovah’s Witnesses in their door to door ministry. Shortly after, he accepted a Bible study and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1974. Bucky enjoyed the outdoors and loved going to “The Cabin.” To say Bucky was an avid fisherman is an understatement! Most of all, he loved his God Jehovah and served Him the best he could.

Bucky is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda; his beloved son, Joe, and his wife, Shari; his four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Janis Ashley, Susan Dalton and Marty Puryer.

The Puryer family would like to thank the Eureka Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for their loyal support.

There will be a memorial service for Bucky at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Eureka.
