BILLINGS — Josie Windauer scored an early goal, but the Columbia Falls Wildkats couldn’t hold the lead as they fell to the Billings Central Rams in Western A play.

Columbia Falls coach Thomas Clark called it a “tough day.”

The Wildkats’ first loss of the season brings them to 4-1-0 in Class A soccer.

“They’re a really great team,” Clark said of Billings Central. “They look like the best team in the state, and they’ve looked like that for a while.”

“We competed hard,” he added. “We learned a lot about them and a lot about us. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them again in the playoffs. We’ll be chomping at the bit.”

Clark also said of his team’s lone goal-scorer, “Josie was awesome. She’s a really great player... The score line doesn’t say it all. I’m really proud of all the girls. It was a really great effort.”
