Columbia Falls nets soccer sweep in Libby
LIBBY — The Wildkats had a couple of firsts in a Northern A 7-1 romp over the Libby Loggers on Thursday.
Sydney Mann scored the first two goals of her career and goaltender Zoey Byrd had her first career start. Both are freshmen.
“This game was all about our future,” coach Thomas Clark said.
Josie Windauer assisted on both Mann’s goals and scored two of her own. Maddie Robison scored two goals and had one assist.
Columbia Falls is 6-1 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

LIBBY — Simon Magg scored a hat trick as Columbia Falls lit up the Loggers for eight goals Thursday.
Johnny Carl had four assists and one goal. Jason Albin scored twice for the Wildcats (3-3-1 overall, 2-1 conference).
“We put together a complete game, showing a lot of grit, hard work in the trenches and good leadership on the field,” Columbia Falls coach O’Brien Byrd said. “The tactics were all there but we needed to play with heart and we did. The first complete game of the season.”
Freshman goalkeeper Bryce Dunham made five saves in his first start of the season.
“Dunham had to come up big,” Byrd said. “He rose to the occasion.”
