Columbia Falls Wildkats JV and Stillwater Christian Cougars varsity played to a 1-1 tie on Thursday.

Mabelle Harman scored for the Cougars and Jenna Weaver scored the tying goal for Columbia Falls.

“We struggled with shape in the first half and had no patience in managing the ball,” Stillwater coach JR Hemp said. “We controlled the pace of the match, but could not finish. Second half we came out with better connected passes which lead to the first score early in the second half. We had a defensive breakdown in midfield that allowed Jenna Weaver to score late in the game.

Hemp added: “We had exceptional play from our outside defenders Juniors Elyse Kreitner and Sophia Burrough. Madi Schwartz played holding mid instead of her normal center back position and did an awesome job for us tonight.“

Stillwater (6-2-2) has an away game at Plains today at 2 p.m.
