FVHS sweeps Stillwater Christian

Corey Connerly poured in 23 points – nine during a fourth-quarter surge – and the Flathead Valley Home School Crusaders edged the Stillwater Christian Cougars 59-57 in overtime at the Kalispell Middle School Saturday.

It was the second of two meetings between the teams this season.

Abby Wiser and Makaila Burlingame added 10 points each for FVHS, which kept the score tight after a slow start. Connerly and Starlin Davis each hit buckets in overtime, where FVHS missed eight of 10 free throws and still held on.

Abby Hudson’s 14 points led the Cougars.

Selah Neumann added 10.

Jordan Wininger scored 23 points, 15 coming as the Flathead Valley Home School Crusaders blew its boys’ game with the Stillwater Christian Cougars open in the fourth quarter.

Wininger hit three 3-pointers in the frame as FVHS padded out a 33-27 lead after three quarters.

Bubba Loyda added 15 points for the winners.

Connor Drish scored 15 points to lead the Cougars and Luke Frampton added 10 points for Stillwater Christian.
