The Bigfork swim team earned their highest ranking ever at the State Swim Meet in Great Falls over the weekend, finishing fourth as Sophi Logue took home the school’s first-ever individual state title in the 100 butterfly.

“It was incredible. It was everything I was hoping for and I am so proud of my swimmers. I am still in shock,” head coach Charlotte Ball said. “This weekend was seven years in the making with a lot of hard work along the way. To see it all come to fruition the way it did was just amazing. It was so fun to see it all pay off.”

A sophomore, Logue set a personal best of 1:03.73 to win her state title, finishing ahead of Whitefish’s Nia Hanson by just over two seconds. Logue was also third in the 200 freestyle.

Senior Ashley Anderson also set a personal best in the 50 freestyle as she came in sixth.

The 400 freestyle relay team of Anderson, Logue, Hanna Ritchie and Allie Reichner took eight seconds off their preliminary time to finish third while the same group also earned fourth in the 200 medley relay.

The 200 freestyle relay team of Soraya Brevik, Lily Peterson, Kylie McMullen and Lauren Adolph finished fifth in their race. ¦
