Bulldogs dump Wildcats in play-in game
WHITEFISH — Justin Conklin scored 22 points and Tallon Holmquist and Bodie Smith added 10 each as the Whitefish Bulldogs rolled past visiting Columbia Falls, 57-31 Monday in a Western A Divisional play in basketball game.
Whitefish led 24-10 at the half, then had a 22-point effort in the third quarter to take control.
“Just a great overall effort defensively from out team,” said Whitefish coach Scott Smith.
The Bulldogs held Columbia Falls to just two points in the second quarter.
Allec Knapton paced the Wildcats with 14.
The Bulldogs head now to the Western A Divisonal tournament in Ronan where they will take on Hamilton at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

RONAN — Jaylea Lunceford and Analeta Yellowbird led a balanced Ronan effort on Monday night, scoring 11 and 10 points, respectively to lead the Maidens past visiting Polson, 57-17 in a Western A Divisional play-in contest.
All in all, 10 Maidens made it into the score column.
Ronan led 30-12 at half and 51-15 after three quarters.
Mossy Kauley scored eight points for the Pirates.
The Maidens (12-7) will take on Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Event Center in Ronan.
