‘Sister Act’ musical opens at Bigfork Summer Playhouse this weekend

| July 17, 2020 8:44 AM

The Bigfork Summer Playhouse opens its next Broadway hit, “Sister Act,” Saturday, July 18.

When night club singer Deloris Van Cartier witnesses her mobster boyfriend commit a murder she is sent to a nunnery for witness protection and the hilarity begins. Based on the 1992 movie starring Whoopi Goldberg and adapted for the stage by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, ”Sister Act” is one of the funniest shows to come out of Broadway this century.

Desiree Wilkins makes her Bigfork Summer Playhouse debut and rocks the playhouse with ‘70s style music that will leave you tapping your toes, humming the tunes and smiling so big you’ll want to come back and see it again.

Seating is checkerboard style to encourage social distancing. Purchase any available green ticket. Consider wearing your mask, if not for you, for the comfort of all the other patrons. Masks will be provided to those that need one. In addition to extra cleaning and sanitizing efforts, there will be hand sanitizer located in various stations at the theater.

Tickets are available online at www.bigforksummerplayhouse.com or by calling the box office from noon to 5 p.m. at (406) 837-4886.
