Glacier Bank customers in Bigfork will likely be relieved to know the bank’s drive-thru reopened Monday after the location closed completely for about a week. Market President Bob Nyusteun said the bank “closed for deep cleaning.”

He declined to comment on whether an employee at the Bigfork bank or any other Glacier Bank location had tested positive for COVID-19, but he said Glacier Bank, like all businesses, has had to make adjustments due to the virus outbreak.

“It’s a challenge to keep employees safe,” he said. “We made the decision for the health, safety and welfare of our employees and customers.”

All 16 of Glacier Bank’s lobbies throughout Northwest Montana were closed for more than a week as part of the overall effort to keep the spaces clean. The Lakeside, Polson and Kalispell branches kept their drive-thru services open and maintained their usual drive-thru hours throughout the closure, while the rest of the drive-thrus were temporarily closed.

“It’s unfortunate we’re not able to provide a drive-thru right now,” Nyusteun said Wednesday of the Bigfork location.

However, Nyusteun pointed out Glacier Bank offers a variety of alternative options that should be able to help clients take care of their banking needs, and during the brief closure they didn’t receive much feedback from Bigfork banking clients.

“We have other avenues to be able to support our clients,” Nyusteun said.

He pointed out Glacier Bank has eight other locations in the Flathead Valley. “We have multiple offices scattered throughout the Valley,” Nyusteun said. “We’re ready to serve.”

He also encouraged clients to use Glacier Bank’s online banking services at www.glacierbank.com.

Nyusteun said the best option for Glacier Bank clients is to call (406) 756-4200. ■
