- Bigfork Independent Film Festival postponed until October.

The fourth annual Bigfork Independent Film Festival scheduled for April 3-5 has been postponed until October 2-4 out of concerns related to the new coronavirus. “We fully expect filmmakers from throughout Montana to attend the festival, and our decision was made in the interest of protecting the local community,” said Steven Shapero, Bigfork Film Festival director who noted that the event and film schedule will remain the same in October. Tickets or passes that have already been purchased for the 2020 Bigfork Independent Film Festival, will remain valid when the event is held in October. A refund will be issued to people who request one by emailing Shapero at sshapero@gmail.com. “We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the public’s patience and understanding,” he said. - April Bigfork Area Chamber of Commerce Sundowner

CLOSED

- Bigfork Chamber of Commerce offices will be closed until April 1. At that time, staff will reevaluate and decide whether further closures are necessary.

“We are using an abundance of caution in protecting our volunteers and community members, many of whom are at a higher risk should they contract COVID-19. During this time, the chamber will continue to operate remotely and be available for appointments as you may need them,” chamber executive director Rebekah King wrote in a March 16 email.

The chamber office is closed; however, staff are still available by phone and email. The office number (406) 837-5888 is forwarded directly to the King’s cell phone.

- All ImagineIF Library branches will close their doors from March 16-28 in line with public school closures to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Customers with checked out materials are advised to keep those items at home since book drop will be closed and not accepting any returns. Customers will not incur any late fees during this time.

Librarians are also preparing remote services and will be answering questions via e-mail and offering virtual programming. To get in touch with a librarian during business hours (Monday–Wednesday 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Thursday–Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.) email: asklib@imagineiflibraries.org.

All electronic services such as eBooks, databases, and more remain available and can be accessed via: https://imagineiflibraries.org/

Families are encouraged to stay tuned to ImagineIF’s Facebook and Instagram pages for online early literacy and youth programming. Our children’s librarians will offer play, art, sensory and STEAM ideas for families to do at home.

- Following the lead of Bigfork Schools, ACES After-School Program has closed, but will continue providing their dinner meal service beginning Tuesday, March 16. Grab-and-go meals will be available for pickup between 4:30-5 p.m. at the ACES building, 801 Grand Drive in Bigfork.

OTHER CHANGES

Both restaurants are taking extra precautions such as limiting frequently touched items and increasing cleaning and sanitation measures.

- Love Lives Here will host their March 18 meeting on Skype at 7 p.m. To learn more, visit the Flathead LGBT+ Youth group Facebook page or email info@loveliveshereflathead.org.

- Bigfork Community Center will not be offering dine-in hot meals, but will continue to operate their Meals on Wheels program, which delivers hot food to Bigfork-area seniors three days per week. To sign up for Meals on Wheels home delivery call the Agency on Aging at 758-5730. Those interested in volunteering are asked to call Rocky at 837-4157.
