Sports roundup: Football rolls over Conrad

The Bigfork Vikings scored four touchdowns in the first quarter and cruised to over the Conrad Cowboys in a non-conference game.

Patrick Wallen threw for three touchdowns and 184 yards. Wallen’s longest pass of the night was 63 yards to Bryce Gilliard late in the first quarter.

Wyatt Johnson was Bigfork’s leading rusher with 46 yards and ran in one touchdown.

Conrad’s Brinkley Evans drove in a 10-yard TD with 45 seconds left on the game clock.

Cross country

The Bigfork boys cross-country team tallied 212 points to finish in the middle of the pack at the Flathead Invitational Sept. 10 at Rebecca Farm in Kalispell.

Sophomore Jack Jensen set the pace for the team with a 17:53. He finished 26th overall and 2 minutes back of the overall winner.

Elliot Sanford crossed the line at 18:08, followed by Ryder Nollan at 18:15 and North Nollan at 18:44. Colton Wroble rounded out the team scores with a 20:16.

The Bigfork girls finished out of the team scoring, but had three runners post strong results.

Junior runner Tabitha Raymond clocked a 22:53 to lead the team, followed closely by senior Mahali Kuzyk at 22:54. Sophomore Erika Dowling crossed at 24:02.

Soccer

The Bigfork girls soccer team scored three goals in the second half to take home a 3-2 win over Corvallis on Saturday.

Brette Guenzler, Madison Chappius and Scout Nadeau scored for the Valkyries, who improved to 3-2 overall (0-1 conference).

Goalkeeper Catherine Panor made seven saves. Bigfork outshot Corvallis 34-9.

The Valkyries fell 6-0 at Columbia Falls in Northwest A play on Thursday.

Luke Sangster scored four goals for the Corvallis Blue Devils in a 5-0 win over the Bigfork Vikings Saturday.

Bigfork fell to 1-3 overall and is 1-0 in conference play. Bigfork’s scorers were Asa Barrett and Levi Peterson.

The Vikings dropped a Northwest A match 10-2 at Columbia Falls on Thursday.

The Bigfork volleyball squad dropped a match in four sets with Powell County 24-26, 25-19, 30-32, 22-25.

Isabella Ellison and Ellie Jordt led the team with 7 kills each.

The dropped another match in three sets to Anaconda on the road trip, 20-25, 25-27, 1-25.

Igna Turner led the way with 7 kills, while Zoey Albert and Alexis Saari each posted 6 in the loss.
