Bigfork man dies in crash near Ferndale

A Bigfork man died Sunday morning after being ejected from his vehicle in a crash near Ferndale.

The Montana Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene at 2 a.m.

The 50-year-old was driving a Jeep Wrangler southbound on Montana 83 when it went off the roadway. The driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to roll more than three times before coming to rest on the driver’s side.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt.

Road conditions were damp and speed was considered a factor in the crash.

The crash is under investigation.
