BLUAC meets to consider one application on Thursday
The Bigfork Land Use Advisory Committee will meet Thursday to look at one application for consideration, as well as to discuss some ideas for alleviating traffic around Bigfork.
BLUAC acts in an advisory capacity for official Flathead County land use decision-making boards and Flathead County Commissioners concerning applications and proposals for growth and development projects within the Bigfork Zoning District.
The board will consider a request from Michael and Jill Meade for a variance to Section 3.16.040 of the Flathead County Zoning Regulations, to the maximum height for a detached accessory structure. The subject property is zoned RC-1 (Residential Cluster) and is located at 500 Holt Drive within the Holt Zoning District. The lot sits beside a popular beach access trail that leads to the north shore of Flathead Lake. RC-1 permitted uses include a few different kinds of dwellings, as well as park and publicly owned recreational facility and public transportation shelter station, among many others. Conditional uses vary between dwellings, to cellphone towers, churches, short term rentals and other businesses like restaurants, stores and more.
The board is also set to discuss alternative resources to potentially assist in alleviating traffic issues in and around Bigfork. This has been a hot topic for the board as they review and approve more development proposals around the area.
Information and documents pertaining to the request are on file in the Flathead County Planning & Zoning Office in Kalispell.
