Bigfork Chamber of Commerce cancels all Chamber organized events for January
The Bigfork Area Chamber of Commerce is cancelling all Chamber organized events for January in order to help curb the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses.
In their weekly newsletter, the Chamber said “one of the jobs of the Bigfork Area Chamber of Commerce is to promote and protect the businesses in our community. We are in a season of elevated illness, be it cold, flu, or COVID, and many businesses have continued staffing shortages. Our priority at this time is to do whatever we can to ensure people can go to work.”
The letter went on to say the decision “has nothing to do with a fear of COVID. It is one thing to make a personal choice to go out to dinner or attend an event, it is another for us to organize an event that can impact the operations of our business community.”
