Holiday fun continues this weekend
A myriad of holiday events are continuing this weekend in Bigfork, including the annual Parade of Lights and Santa’s arrival. On Saturday Dec. 3, kids are invited to join in on free cookie decorating at the Bigfork Art and Cultural Center from 10 a.m. to noon. There are multiple Christmas markets happening on Saturday, with the 13th annual Country Christmas Bazaar starting at 10 a.m. in Creston at the Eastside Grange. The 2nd annual Christmas Village Market takes place at the Swan River Community Hall from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., featuring more than 20 local artisans and several local food trucks. The Bigfork VFW’s Holiday Bazaar starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 3 p.m.
Circle back to Electric Avenue for the Parade of Lights, starting at 6 p.m. and ending with the arrival of Santa Claus at the BACC around 6:30. He will be there available for photos until 8 p.m.
The parade’s theme this year is “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” in conjunction with the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre upcoming Christmas performance. Members of the Playhouse are also set to perform one of Bigfork’s favorite holiday traditions, “A Touch of Christmas” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. A benefit for the theater, Playhouse Owner Brach Thomson and Friends play Christmas favorites live on multiple keyboards, synthesizers and piano. “… just like Mannheim Steamroller Christmas and Trans Siberian Orchestra.” For more information on how to purchase tickets, visit bigforksummerplayhouse.com/childrens-theatre/
