Valkyries take third at Seeley-Swan Meet, Vikings third
The Valkyries used a true team effort to come away with team trophy at the Seeley Swan Invitational in Missoula over the weekend, earning the top spot despite grabbing no individual first-place finishes.
Scout Nadeau and Inga Turner led the way for the Vals, each earning a pair of second-place finishes while Claire Jensen and Zoey Albert also took silver in an event.
Nadeau set a new PR of 109 feet, 5 inches to take second in the discus and made a toss of 37 feet, 6.5 inches to take second in the shot put.
Turner ran a season-best time of 16.76 seconds to finish second in the 100 hurdles and used a leap of 4 feet, 10 inches to take second in the high jump. She was also sixth in the long jump.
Jensen ran a season-best 6:02.06 to take second in the mile and Albert set a new PR of 122 feet, 5.5 inches to take second in the javelin.
Third-place finishes for the Vals included Emma Pouwer in the 100 and Afton Lambrecht in the 800.
The 4X100 relay team of Danika Bucklin, Pouwer, Ione Plummer and Lambrecht took third while the 4X400 relay squad of Bucklin, Lambrecht, Chloe Norred and Peyton Benson was second.
The Vikings had three top finishers but took third as a team as Jack Jenson won the mile and was third in the two mile.
Wyatt Johnson set a new PR of 15.77 seconds to win the 110 hurdles and was third in the 300 hurdles while Levi Peterson won the triple jump with a leap of 41 feet, 5.5 inches.
Other top three finishers included Isak Epperly taking third in the 110 hurdles and Tristen Herd earning third in the pole vault.
The 4X400 relay team of Johnson, Trevor Hill, Peterson and Maddox Mater took third.
