Please shop to support the arts in Bigfork
Happy first week of August to everyone!
There is so much to enjoy this time of year and I hope you are soaking in the long days of summer and grabbing up all the opportunities to recreate that you can. I wanted to remind you about one of my favorite annual events, the Bigfork Festival of the Arts that is happening this weekend August 5th and 6th.
Here’s a little history just for fun. It was May of 1978 when the idea of a Bigfork Festival of the Arts was first proposed.
As so often happens in Bigfork, it started with a conversation on Electric Ave. between artist membership of the Bigfork Art and Cultural Center and local gallery owners.
The first festival was held on the first weekend in August of 1978, marking this year as the 46th continuous time locals will gather as a community to celebrate the arts on the streets of downtown Bigfork.
I am especially excited this year as this is my first year serving as a Board Member of the Bigfork Art and Cultural Center, which is truly an honor.
Many folks don’t realize, but inside the Clock Tower building located at 525 Electric Ave., we operate (in my biased opinion) the most unique artisan gift shop. Every item in the shop is locally handcrafted with proceeds supporting both artisan and BACC.
This weekend we are moving our store outdoors so that you can find us, and our beautiful artist created pieces, more easily.
I do hope that you stop by to shop, but more importantly I hope you stop by for a chat as there are so many exciting new things happening at the Bigfork Art and Cultural Center that we look forward to sharing with you.
Bigfork Art and Cultural Center is a creative and educational hub that inspires people of all ages through a wide variety of workshops, lectures, and learning opportunities.
BACC is a 501(c)3 organization, located at 525 Electric Avenue in Bigfork, Montana. You can find us online at www.baccbigfork.org, Instagram and Facebook.
