Food Bank needs
Overall, food donations to the food bank have gone down significantly this year, compared to previous years and we aren’t sure why, except the cost of groceries has gone up so much it is more difficult for everyone to buy extra food to donate. This is a double edged sword because our clients need more help than ever right now.
We are particularly in need of the following items: turkeys, hams, pie prusts, pie filling, Jello, pudding, flour, white sugar, brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk and toilet paper.
Our blue donation bin is always available to drop off non perishable food donations, we are constantly checking it and emptying it. For perishable donations, Monday morning drop off is best, between 9 and 11 a.m., but if that isn’t possible, please call the food bank to arrange drop off. Thank you all who remember the food bank on your shopping trips.
