Vikes wrestlers fall to Hamilton, Libby in duals
The Vikings wrestling team was in action in Columbia Falls Thursday, were Bigfork dropped duals against Hamilton and Libby/Troy.
The Vikes and Broncs fought a tough battle in their dual as Bigfork narrowly fell to Hamilton, 33-30.
All three of Bigfork’s wins in the dual came via pin as Lyrik Fainter (113) pinned Colt Yocum in 2:26, Evan Tidwell (182) pinned Carter Morgan in 1:18 and Felix Zambergs (285) needed just 57 seconds to pin Everett Stumpf.
Wyatt Elwell (170) dropped an 11-4 decision to Aidan Toniazzo, Bryson Murphy (205) fell to Noah Guisinger in 1:33 and Damien Kato (182) fell to Clayton Beall in 1:16.
Bigfork once again picked up three victories as the Vikings fell to Libby/Troy, 51-24.
Elwell pinned Tanner Wolfe in 5:00, Evan Tidwell needed 2:26 to pin Ian Thom and Murphy pinned Alex Reatz in 39 seconds.
Diego Rodriguez (103) dropped a 7-6 decision to Riley Osborn, Hunter Nelson (120) fell to Bridger Bache in 1:20, michael McCarty (145) fell to Marley Erickson in 4:53 and Zambergs fell to Jace DeShazer in 30 seconds.
Results from the Valkyries matches were not available at press time.
Bigfork’s wrestlers will be back in action in the new year as they travel to Polson Jan. 4 before competing in the Western Montana Duals in Ronan Jan 5-6.
