Dorothy Puett

| January 25, 2023 12:00 AM

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Dorothy Puett on Nov. 22 at the age of 82 in Henderson, Nevada. She is survived by her beloved husband Grayson. They were together for over 40 years.

Dorothy was born in Montreal to parents Blair and Doris Jardine, sister to Lois (Davis) and Audrey (Pearce.) Her youth was spent happily with her family at their home in Montreal and summers at their cottage in Oak Point, New Brunswick. Upon graduation from Acadia and Queen’s universities, she began a career in teaching in Montreal and Toronto, eventually deciding to pursue a Masters degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder in the early seventies. This decision led to her meeting and marrying Grayson, something she referred to as “the best decision of her life.”

Initially Dorothy and Grayson lived in Fort Morgan, Colorado, but once retired, they lived and developed friendships in the communities of Rancho Santa Fe, California; Bigfork, Montana and Henderson, Nevada.

Dorothy was a happy individual with an infectious smile and quick wit. An active person, she played varsity sports in university and excelled at tennis and golf. Grayson and Dorothy were avid pet owners, their house always including a couple of dogs. More recently, she took special interest in the local arts community and was a regular attendee at shows, recitals and her local church.

She will be greatly missed by Grayson, her stepson Lamar, her eight nieces and nephews, her six grandnieces and grandnephews, and by her many friends.
