BACC opens new art exhibit, offers several programs in July

The Bigfork Arts and Cultural Center has several exciting events lined up for the remainder of July, from a new art exhibit to workshops and more.

The “Nature of Montana” art exhibit had its opening reception Tuesday evening and features work from multiple artists, including Lael Gray, Therese Ely, Teresa Olson, Sunnie LeBlanc, Will Smith and more.

The Art of Sewing and the BACC will present “Sewing Mountains” Saturday, July 22 from 2-4 p.m. with local sewing instructor and master quilter Merrie Ford.

Three-time Agatha Award winner Leslie Budewitz will host a talk and book signing Sunday, July 23 from 2-4 p.m. to promote her new book “Between a Wok and a Dead Place.”

Budewitz writes the Spice Shop mysteries, set in Seattle’s Pike Place Market and the Food Lovers’ Village mysteries, set in Northwest Montana.

Lael Gray and Therese Ely will host a Plein Air Painting workshop at Bibler Gardens Wednesday, July 26 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Participants should bring painting supplies, lunch, water and a chair.

A $35 registration fee goes towards supporting BACC programs.

The BACC and Bibler Gardens will be joining forces again the following day as hosts Mike Hannley and Kelley Olson will present an evening of music, garden tours, drinks and light hors-d’oeuvres from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 27.

Tickets are $50 per person and are limited to 60.
