Bigfork native awarded scholarship
The Montana Nursery & Landscape Association is pleased to announce that True Gannon was recently awarded a scholarship during the Association’s Spring 2023 Scholarship award period.
Gannon was born and raised in Bigfork, Montana, growing up at Swan River Gardens, the family-owned greenhouse and nursery.
Gannon has been passionate about plants since the very beginning, and is currently a junior at Montana State University, enrolled in Environmental Horticulture with a concentration on Landscape Design.
After graduating, Gannon wants to gain intern experience by working at landscape firms in and outside of the state, eventually returning to the family business in Bigfork to continue landscape design in the Flathead Valley.
The Montana Nursery & Landscape Association (MNLA) annually presents scholarship awards to students who demonstrate both academic excellence and a commitment to horticulture or other degree programs in Montana.
The MNLA is a trade association of approximately 250 members from the United States and Canada. Its goal is to provide education, information, and opportunities for professional development for Montana’s horticulture industry.
