Bigfork hoopsters receive numerous postseason honors

Five Valkyries and four Vikings picked up postseason honors last week as the All-State and All-Conference selections for the 2022-23 season were revealed.

Sophomore Braeden Gunlock headlined the selections for the Valkyries, earning All-State honors after averaging 20 points, eight rebounds, five steals and 3.5 assists per game while helping lead the Vals to a 26-0 record and their first state basketball title.

Freshman Paeten Gunlock was also an All-State selection, averaging 11.4 points, 5.3 assists and 4.3 steals per game for the Vals.

Seniors Ava Davey and Scout Nadeau were both All-Conference First Team selections as Davey averaged 8.4 points, 3.5 steals and 2.5 assists per game for the Vals this season with Nadeau putting in 8.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals.

Maddi Chappuis, also a senior, earned All-Conference Second Team honors after putting in 7.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3 steals and 2.5 assists per game for the Vals this year.

For the Vikings, senior Isak Epperly was an All-State selection after averaging 12.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game this season while fellow senior Nick Walker was also named All-State, averaging 11.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest.

Eli Thorness was named to the All-Conference First Team averaging 7 points, four rebounds and 2.2 assists this season while Bryce Gilliard was named to the Second Team after averaging 7.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists for the Vikes.
