Did You Know? Series

We invite you to join us in welcoming underwater videographer and maritime historian, Kyren Zimmerman as he takes us into the depths of Flathead Lake to discover the mysteries lost beneath the Flathead waters.

In 2022, the Bigfork Arts and Cultural Center partnered with Kyren to begin diving into our local underwater history by locating and documenting steamboat wrecks, submerged lumber mills and other significant underwater artifacts that traced the journey of the developing communities in Flathead Valley.

Kyren will present his findings from the 2022 Maritime Archaeology Survey, demonstrating the advanced remote underwater vehicles and technology used to locate and film underwater structures. Kyren will also share the exciting new projects and infamous underwater sites that he will be exploring this year.

The Bigfork Community United Church is located at 750 Electric Avenue.

Monday May 15,

5:00 – Potluck - Good food and there’s always enough if you just show up.

5:30 – Presentation – Just come for Kyren’s presentation if you’re not interested in dinner.
