Blood drive Dec. 5
Bethany Lutheran Church on Hwy 35 in Bigfork will host a blood drive from 11:30 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. Dec. 5.
Blood levels are critically low nationwide and as many people as possible are needed to donate.
To sign up, visit www.redcrossblood.org.
If a convenient time slot is not availables, donors are welcome to walk in at any time during the drive, and workers will try to get them in as soon as possible. All donors are asked to complete their Rapid Pass to speed up the check-in process.
S’mores with Santa
For the fourth straight year, The Good Stuff Botanicals in Bigfork will be hosting S’mores with Santa before the Parade of Lights Saturday.
We start up a fire outside in the back for the kids to roast marshmallows, make s’mores, and enjoy a cup of cocoa with Santa.
We have a backdrop for photos too, if anyone wants their photo taken.
The event will be from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Food Bank needs
Overall, food donations to the food bank have gone down significantly this year, compared to previous years and we aren’t sure why, except the cost of groceries has gone up so much it is more difficult for everyone to buy extra food to donate. This is a double edged sword because our clients need more help than ever right now.
We are particularly in need of the following items: Turkeys, Hams, Pie Crusts, Pie Filling, Jello, Pudding, Flour, White Sugar, Brown Sugar, Sweetened Condensed Milk and Toilet Paper.
Our Blue Donation Bin is always available to drop off non perishable food donations, we are constantly checking it and emptying it. For perishable donations, Monday morning drop off is best, between 9-11, but if that isn’t possible, please call the food bank to arrange drop off. Thank you all who remember the food bank on your shopping trips.
