BACC to host watercolor exhibit, workshops

Please join us for the opening reception for Montana Watercolor Society, WATERMEDIA 2023 on October 6th, from 5-7 p.m. at Bigfork Art & Cultural Center.

Fifty watercolor paintings from around the country will be juried by renowned watercolorist Iain Stewart. An artist talk by Stewart starts at 6 p.m.

During this exhibit, BACC will host a series of watercolor workshops starting with a 3-day workshop “Introduction to Watercolor Painting, from Sketchbook to Paints” October 11-13 with local artist and art educator, Susan McKay.

Whether, as a beginning artist or tweaking advanced skills, participants will enjoy the light, friendly, and fun aspects of art learning.

McKay’s workshop will focus on learning the techniques of watercolor, including how to plan effective and exciting compositions, how to utilize colors, value, light, and textures. Above all, McCay will demonstrate how making changes to the work created evolves throughout the process. This workshop bridges the gap between the artistic process and everyday life.
