Vals soccer improves to 3-1, Vikes drop pair

The Valkyries earned a pair of home wins over Hamilton and Frenchtown last week to improve to 3-1.

The Vals got two goals from Piper Buzzel and another from Paeten Gunlock to erase a 2-1 halftime deficit and pull out a 3-2 win over Hamilton Saturday after pummeling Frenchtown 8-0 Thursday afternoon.

Bigfork got a haul from Gunlock as she finished with four goals against Frenchtown while Braeden Gunlock, Buzzell, Ione Plummer and Peyton Benson also scored.

The Vikings fell to 0-4 this week as the fell to Hamilton 4-2 and Frenchtown 3-2.

Caleb Riedesel scored Bigfork’s two goals against Frenchtown while Quinn Kerr and Hunter Miland each scored against Hamilton.

Both teams hosted Columbia Falls in their Northwest A Conference openers after press time Tuesday and will be at Whitefish Saturday.
