Volleyball earns split, cross country and golf in action
The Valkyries volleyball team split their past two matches, defeating Libby 3-1 Sept. 12 before falling at Whitefish Thursday, 3-0.
Additional stats and information had not been made available by the Vals coaching staff at press time.
The Vals are currently tied with Ronan for fourth in the Northwestern A standings with a 2-2 conference record (3-2 overall).
The Vals will be in action at Polson Thursday before traveling to Browning Saturday.
Keni Wade earned a pair of second-place finishes for the Vals in their past two golf tournaments, finishing four strokes back in Polson Sept. 11 before shooting a 158 at Buffalo Hills in Kalispell Sept. 14.
Wade’s 158 was just one stroke back of Glacier’s Chloe Tanner.
Colin Wade was 18th for the Vikes at the Buffalo Hills tourney, also shooting a 158.
Bigfork’s cross country teams were in action at Libby over the weekend, where the Vikings took fourth.
Noah Hamilton-Dixon was the top finisher, coming in 4th at 18:01.12 while Sean Cotman also broke the top 10, finishing seventh at 18:30.15.
North Nollan was 15, Sam Ayers was 18th, Nick Gustavson was 21st and Colton Ballard took 23rd.
For the Vals, Erika Dowling was 7th at 24:20.13 and Hadley Nollan was 8th at 24:27.98.
Sasha Steyee was 14th and Ava Reynolds earned 20th.
