Resurfacing proposed on MT 35 south of Creston
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to announce and invite the public to comment on a proposal to resurface about seven miles of Montana Highway 35 (MT 35), south of Creston.
The project begins just south of the junction with Montana Highway 83 (MT 83), commonly known as Swan Highway, and extends north, ending about one mile south of Creston.
Proposed work includes replacing the top layer of pavement, applying a new overlay, seal and cover (chip seal), new shoulder and centerline rumble strips, upgraded pavement markings, and signage. The purpose of this project is to extend the service life, improve the ride of the existing pavement, and enhance roadway safety features.
Construction is tentatively planned for 2025 depending on completion of design and availability of funds. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
Partnering with the community is an important part of properly planning for future projects. MDT welcomes the public to provide ideas and comments on the proposed project.
