Tom Sliter Community Partnership Awards presented to Flathead Land Trust

| April 24, 2024 12:00 AM

On April 10th the NW District, Montana Council, Boy Scouts of America hosted an Investment in Character and Leadership fundraising luncheon and silent auction event at the Red Lion, which included the Tom Sliter Community Partnership Awards.

The fundraiser was an outreach to potential donors to contribute to scouting’s ICL campaign. Funds raised help support various programs to advance scouting skills and leadership growth for just over 300 scouts and adult scout leaders in northwest Montana.

Funds also help sustain two premier BSA camps in the Flathead Valley: Grizzly Base Camp just north of Bigfork, and Melita Island in flathead lake. These two venues are the destination of over a 1,000 scouts each year.

The Tom Sliter Community Partnership Awards recognizes people and organizations that contribute immeasurably to our community just as Tom did.

This year Andrew Sliter presented the Tom Sliter Community Partnership Awards to the Flathead Land Trust. Accepting the award was Jen Guse, communications, outreach and special projects coordinator.

The keynote speaker for the event was Flathead County District Court Judge Dan Wilson.

Local scout packs (5-10 years age), troops (11-18), sea scout ship, and venture crew (14-20) for boys and girls are active and growing.
