Vikings baseball scores wins over Whitefish, Mission

Bigfork made the best of their offense in a 6-4 West Division victory over Whitefish on Tuesday, April 23. The Vikings turned five hits into six runs as they downed their Flathead Valley foe.

Mason Lewis went the distance for Bigfork, allowing just two earned runs and striking out five. The Vikings led 3-2 after three innings before Whitefish took a 4-3 lead in the fourth. Bigfork tied the game up in the fifth and added two more go-ahead runs in the sixth.

Whitefish committed six errors in the game.

Grady Campbell was 2-for-2 in the game, while Ryeln Rodriguez, Liam Benson and Hayden Mayer had hits in the matchup.

Columbia Falls Downs Bigfork In Doubleheader

Bigfork could muster just three hits in a doubleheader loss to Columbia Falls in West Division action on Thursday, April 25. The Wildcats won the first game 14-1 while collecting 14 hits and then they won the nightcap 16-3 with a 15-hit performance.

Columbia Falls used a seven-run second inning to take command of the first game, and added six more runs in the fourth. Bigfork finished with one hit, a double by Grady Campbell.

In the second game, Bigfork trailed 5-2 going into the top of the sixth when the Wildcats scored 11 runs in one stanza. Ryan Rodriguez and Ryder Hamilton had hits for the Vikings. Hayden Mayer started the game on the mound for Bigfork, striking out four.

Bigfork Uses Big Inning To Defeat Mission-Arlee

Bigfork collected eight hits and downed Mission-Arlee 7-2 in West Division baseball action on Saturday, April 27. Grady Campbell started the game on the mound, allowing just one hit in three innings, while also driving home three runs with his bat.

Mission-Arlee was leading 2-1 in the fifth inning when Bigfork used the bottom of the stanza to score five runs to take a commanding lead. Carson Parish drive in two runs, while Holland Jantzen went 3-for-3 with an RBI. 


Bigfork overcame three errors in the game while Campbel, Mason Lewis and Calvin Wiest combined on the mound to hold Mission-Arlee to four hits.

With the win, Bigfork is 5-3 on the season.
