Also Saturday, Columbia Falls hosts the annual Wreaths Across America celebration at the Montana Veteran’s Home starting at 10 a.m. The ceremony will start inside the Montana Veteran’s Home where ceremonial wreaths will be placed, recognizing all branches of the military and POW/MIAs.
Speakers this year are former Montana Legislator Dee Brown and Army Montana National Guard Capt. James Rolfing from the Kalispell Battalion. The Columbia Falls High School Sonifers directed by Emily Hackethorn will sing the National Anthem and holiday songs. Our Chaplain is Father Sean Raftis. Dana Scranton will perform taps.
“We have achieved our goal of having a wreath for every grave at the Montana Veteran’s Home Cemetery this year due of the generosity of our community,” Steve Armstrong Wreaths Across America Location Coordinator for the veterans’ home, said in a press release.
Attendees should enter through the south entrance near the cafeteria. Once the indoor ceremonies are concluded, the public is invited to place wreaths on the graves at the Montana Veteran’s Home Cemetery.
