Bigfork Community Players to hold auditions for ‘Steel Magnolias’
The Bigfork Community Players will produce Robert Harling’s Steel Magnolias this spring.
The witty repartee that fills the air of Truvy’s beauty shop in Chiquapin, Louisiana provides a penetrating view into the lives of a few women who define the character of this small, southern town.
With Truvy’s guidance, Annelle, a lost soul, finds her way and is ultimately saved.
Shelby, the girl with something special, willingly forfeits it all for something greater. Clairee, the recent widow of a powerful man, becomes a force in her own right. Ouiser, possessed of a sharp wit and “more money than God,” provides an ongoing social commentary. M’Lynn experiences and reconciles the loss of that held most dear.
We learn that, in both the best and worst of times, in both pain and pleasure, there is comedy - wild hilarious comedy.
Michele Mank will direct the production, which will play April 19 - 21, and 26 - 28 at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts.
Auditions will be held starting at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 10 at the rehearsal facility: 33606 Quarter Circle Way, Bigfork, in the large building at the top of the hill.
If you come to the audition session, plan to stay for the whole session and read lines. You do not have to prepare anything for the audition but bring a calendar of every potential schedule conflict from now through April. If you have questions, contact Michele Mank via email (mmank64@yahoo.com) or phone (406-407-5748).
