BLUAC to meet Jan. 25

The Bigfork Land Use Advisory committee will meet on Thursday, January 25th at 4 p.m., downstairs at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bigfork.

The agenda includes a zone change request from Sands Surveying, Inc. on behalf of Dana L. Kuzma, for property within the Bigfork Zoning District.

The proposal would change the zoning on a parcel located off Conifer Lane from SAG-10 (Suburban Agricultural) to SAG-5 (Suburban Agricultural). The total acreage involved in the request is 26.656 acres.

The committee will also review and discuss the Bigfork Neighborhood Plan and critical areas that need updating.

Food Bank needs

Overall, food donations to the food bank have gone down significantly this year, compared to previous years and we aren’t sure why, except the cost of groceries has gone up so much it is more difficult for everyone to buy extra food to donate. This is a double edged sword because our clients need more help than ever right now.

We are particularly in need of the following items:  turkeys, hams, pie prusts, pie filling, Jello, pudding, flour, white sugar, brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk and toilet paper.

Our blue donation bin is always available to drop off non perishable food donations, we are constantly checking it and emptying it. For perishable donations, Monday morning drop off is best, between 9 and 11 a.m., but if that isn’t possible, please call the food bank to arrange drop off.
