Just one game after Paeten Gunlock recorded the first Valkyries triple-double in recent history, her sister matched the feat Saturday as Braeden Gunlock posted 23 points, 11 rebounds and 10 steals in Bigfork’s 64-36 win at Ronan.

Paeten Gunlock added 13 points and Keni Wade had 10 as the Vals used the second and third quarters to pull away for their 10th win in a row.

Ronan was able to keep pace with the Vals through one quarter as Bigfork led just 12-11 after eight minutes, but the next two frames were the difference as the Valkyries used a 41-14 spurt to take a 53-35 lead into the fourth quarter.

Braeden Gunlock added two blocks to go with her triple-double while Paeten Gunlock had six rebounds, three assists and three steals to go along with her 13 points.

Wade put in two triples en route to her 10 points and added three steals and two rebounds while Ava Davey added nine points and three assists.

Callie Gembala scored five points and added four rebounds while Kegan Campbell and Afton Lambrecht each scored two points.

Chloe Norred added four rebounds for the Vals in the win.

It was all Bigfork in Whitefish the night before as both Gunlocks, Davey and Gembala all scored in double figures to lead the Vals to a 64-16 win over the Bulldogs.

Bigfork scored the first 11 points of the contest and led 23-6 after one quarter on their way to the win.

Davey had 18 points, five steals and three rebounds to lead the way for Bigfork while Braeden Gunlock added 16 points, eight steals and five rebounds.

Paeten Gunlock finished with 12 points, six assists and three steals while Gemabla had 10 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Wade chipped in with five points and five steals and Norred added three points while Haley Schara finished with four rebounds.

The Valkyries were at home against Browning after press time Tuesday and will face Libby Thursday before traveling to Columbia Falls to face the Wildkats Saturday.
