Valkyries take 4th at Kalispell swim meet Saturday

Danika Bucklin was fourth in the 200 freestyle while Ashlyn McGill and Maci Pickens each turned in fifth-place finishes for the Valkyries at the Summit Saturday as Bigfork took fourth at the Kalispell High School swim meet.

Bigfork finished with 143 points at the event hosted by Flathead and Glacier High Schools as Glacier took first (400), Whitefish was second (185) and Columbia Falls took third (170).

Bucklin’s time of 2:37.46 earned her fourth in the 200 freestyle while she also took seventh-place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 29.40 seconds. 

Pickens took fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:22.17 while also finishing 10th in the 200 freestyle.

McGill’s fifth place finish came in the 500 freestyle as she completed the race in 7:42.79. She was also sixth in the 100 backstroke at 1:41.78.

Erika Dowling was sixth in the 200 individual medley at 3:26.27 and 16th in the 50 freestyle at 35.82 seconds.

Ellena Peterson was seventh in the 200 individual medley with a time of 3:31.48 and also took 13th in the 100 freestyle.

Kylie Kisnlow’s time of 9:21.05 was good enough for sixth in the 500 freestyle while she also took seventh in the 100 breaststroke at 1:46.19.

Alexandra Cash had the other top-10 finish for the Vals, coming in ninth in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:43.27 while also taking 11th in the 50 freestyle.

Anna Thompson was 14th in 200 freestyle and 17th in the 50 yard race.

Gillian Sanford was 14th in the 100 freestyle and 20th in the 50 while Emma Benn was 21st in the 50 freestyle.

Bigfork also did well in the relay races as Pickens, McGill, Dowling and Bucklin took third in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 5:02.13 while McGill, Pickens, Peterson and Bucklin took sixth in the 200 medley relay.
